Boone Homes

Message: We've been living in our Boone home for a little over a year. Having built a number of other homes, we expected at least the somewhat usual aggravation during construction. Instead, we were more than satisfied with the selection and building process, the quick and competent handling of very minor warranty issues, and a year later, with the impressive quality and livability of the finished product. We have a solidly built, quality finished home and appreciate the dedication and professionalism that Boone Homes put into it for us.

Message: All in all, we are happy with the quality of our home. I don't think we could have found a better builder in the Richmond area for the price. The only complaint we have was that more than mid-way through the building process, with 3 months to go before our home was finished, the building supervisor changed (which was a good thing). The former building supervisor did not note things that we asked for (for example, an extra hose attachment was not placed in the front of the house; we specifically requested that the garbage disposal NOT be located under the sink - it is under the sink). We also requested things like no doors on the sunroom leading to the family room, and caught the builders getting ready to put the sunroom doors up. Again, I believe we got lost in the transition of building supervisors, and balls were dropped. Warranty service is generally good. Their kitchen supplier is mediocre.

Message: Some time recently my wife, Peggy, and I wrote a critical review of Boone Homes as a result of an abundance of frustration with what we considered poor communication and a series of mishaps with the disregard of our design and details we provided them that resulted in many errors in the build process. Shortly after our post we received a call from Mitchell Bode, President of Boone Homes. He was gracious, sincere, and open to understanding our disapointment. He genuinly listened and was sympathetic to our experience and showed great respect for us a s a customer. Within 24 hours and without our request to do so he made immediate changes to our satisfaction and got us back on track to complete our home as we intended. He truly showed us he cared about us and his company. He leads by example, a rare trait anymore. Today we did our walk through for our closing next week and the house looked spectacular. We are enormously grateful to Mitchell and his team, especially his construction Mgr., Steve Lunde. This effort deserves a 5 star review.

Message: This is our second Boone Home. We chose Boone because they have quality people with lots of experience and a very good group of vendors. Our new house turned out very well. The only disappointment was the lousy interior paint job. Very poor quality painters who left grit and splotchy areas on all interior trim and doors. Hopefully, when our 60 day warranty review occurs they will correct the problem and make it right.

Message: Don't be fooled by all the 5 star review, some of them are by the community managers selling these homes! First of all, we love the house they built for us, but what I did not like was the lack in complete honesty about a terrible slope in the backyard which will cost us upwards of 100k to fix, build a retaining wall etc. I had asked several times about wanting to build a pool and had even rejected Dominion community because pool was not a possibility there and chose Hawksgate. I expected atleast during all those times I asked, that the marketing person would have told me that just to fix that slope would cost me so much. And then there are selections which with such a high base-payment should have included much better options, they push for laminate flooring, however they lack in colors and selections, so are the bathroom tiles, extremely basic for such high priced houses. They won't refund you for selections we delete such as a bathroom or room, which is another disappointment. They do work with you for structural customization to a certain extent, but expect to pay a lot for those.

Message: As as Community Manager with Boone Homes with nearly 25 years of experience in real estate, 7 of which has been with this company, I can say with confidence that the buying and building experience with Boone Homes is top notch. The Superintendents, Design Consultants, Architects and support staff also have many years in the industry and a long tenure with Boone. Each individual takes pride in what we do and cares very much about exceeding the customers expectation. This does not happen by chance. It is part of the Boone Homes culture and is why we have so many repeat buyers.

Boone works with a variety of excellent vendors to offer quality standard and optional finishes.
